PHYSICAL TYPOGRAPHY HISTORY BOOK

-This design project was proposed for a Typography Professor who needed a physical print piece organizing different famous fonts throughout history in a timeline, sorting each into a group, giving a brief history, and showing examples of the typeface.

-To solve this I decided to go the unique route of making a physical type card box. Complete with a fold out timeline, and individual cards of each font.

-I began the project grouping the fonts and color coding them based on traditional, modern, slab serif, and sans serif fonts.

-I then began on the timeline organizing the important pieces of Typography history and including the color coding to keep it organized. With the lengthy list of information, the fold out timeline was a clear solution.

-With the packaging and timeline finished the cards themselves came easy splitting each type with front as font examples and back as the history and descriptions of each.

-Overall both myself and the client were very satisfied with the solution to the design proposal with a lot of information put together in an organized and easy to understand package.

-Below I have included the PDF of both the Timeline piece as well as the individual Type Cards for a closer look at what is inside the Type Book.
